I had to go to the Registry Office for something else this morning so had a quick look while I was there - the Ann Smith found by Stewart born in St Martin in 1855 was the daughter of William Smith, mariner, and Mary Badier.

Thanks, Trish. Another set to add to the list of possibles. Where do people find this information? I use Ancestry (almost nothing) and Jerripedia but without much luck.

Difficult to make headway. On his 1876 NSW marriage certificate James Smith (24) says he was born in Jersey to parents to Joseph and Catherine (see attached). However, I'm not finding any records of a birth with those names around 1852. Would anyone have any ideas of where to turn, please? Many thanks. A frustrated Smith.

Any attachment must be below 500MB in size, and must have a name that is unique within RootsChat ;D

I usually rename any file I want to attach, by adding my initials to the filename.
