Hi.. had a look around .. is Thomas Davies a relation to Grace Davies .. I believe Davids daughter  Elizabeth Evans is on the 1841 census with Thomas and Mary  Davies in llangeler carmarthenshire
      census H0107 1383 50.......
Still trawling for your david  he married grace by banns on 5th March 1815.....are you able to get the marriage certificate  or contact the church  or the local library for further details ?..
                        Best of luck..

Thank you.  His marriage and buriel are well documented with photos from the original church records, but his baptism/christening is not to be found, which I find strange as the whole family were so well associated with Llangeler church. Are the church records still kept at churches? I have tried to contact the vicar but received no reply as I have trolled the graveyard without success and would like to know where he is buried.  Is there another way of finding his parents other than his birth/ baptism?
Regards

Duh!!  Of course his parents would/ should be named on the marriage certificate, shouldn't they?

not before civil registration which started in 1837 and then only name & occupation of father. Parish records from that time are unlikely to still be in the church, they should be at the county archives. There may have a plan of the churchyard. Just because there is a burial doesn't mean there is a gravestone. It was beyond the means of many families.

Hi there Osprey, perhaps you don't remember but I offered to buy you a drink thinking you followed the Welsh Ospreys rugby team😁 Anyway thank you for your post, I would have thought, although perhaps wrongly, that they would have money as the family were wool manufactures and weavers employing men and servants also David was also a butcher living in a dwelling on the high street in Newcastleemlyn.  Any other ideas?

well, there isn't a baptism in Llangeler for a David Evans at that period. But there are possibles in the neighbouring parishes

bp 26 March 1792 in Llanfihangel ar Arth David son of Walter Evan of Pantmawr
bp 31 Jan 1808, born 8 Aug 1796, David son of David Evan of Penlan and baptised same day to same father Sarah born 1798 & Daniel born 1800, a previous David had ben baptised in 1794

bp 29 May? 1791 in Cynwyl Elfed David the son of John Evan & his Mary his wife

Have you tried checking Evans wills from Llangeler ?
