Well it's possible that they appear as Smith in 1901, if the Barber family can't be found then. Mr Barber from Lincolnshire, Elizabeth from Kent. Ada in 1911 born North Woolwich.
The thing is, even if Emma was recorded twice in 1891, why would she be named as Emma Smith in Kent when the family seem to be Barber then?

Frederick Barber + Elizabeth Baker
He was 25, she was 22. Both their fathers were called William and were labourers. As was the groom.
