It is the Hayles family tree.

(Contact the tree owner and ask where the  information came from.  Or not)

It has him born in 1892 in Birmingham, but living in Sussex in 1891 census, so definitely wrong.

Thanks all for you replies. Appears we need to start again on the Frank Brown end.

Ok, so I now have the Birth Certificate that my Great Grandfather Frank Brown had in his possessions. My Grandmother had been told by him that he was a merchant seaman who jumped ship in Port Kembla Harbour and somehow assumed the name Frank Brown. If anyone can shed some light on Ernest Mitchell or if it helps fill a gap in the family history for the Mitchells that would be great.

OK good.

For some reason I can’t read the parents’ names very clearly- are they Walter Mitchell and Mary Ann Isobel? formerly Mitchell?

Sorry I now see you had them in your opening post - she is Mary Ann Rachel

I see the certificate was obtained in 1935 - do you know when he emigrated to Australia?
