Susannah Bowley of Aylestone
« on: Friday 10 August 18 13:42 BST (UK) »
Hello
I'm currently looking for the parents of Susannah Bowley, My 5th grt grandmother.

She marries William Arnold 31 March 1807 Aylestone. She dies Jan 1841 Blaby aged 55 so a birthdate of around 1785.
I cant seem to find any baptism for her. She isnt the Susannah Bowley bapt in Shepshed 1777 as there is a subsequent marriage for this Susannah.
There is a possible brother called Joseph Bowley who was a Sergeant and born around 1782 Aylestone according to his military record and he is living in Aylestone but I too cannot find a bapt for him in Aylestone. He is also not the Joseph Bowley bapt 1786 Shepshed as there is a infant burial for this one.
Any help would be appreciated.

2 other marriages St Andrew, Aylestone;
THOMAS Bowley/Elizabeth WEBSTER 4 Nov 1807
JOSEPH Bowley/Sarah WEBSTER 1 Dec 1822

Thomas/Joseph may both be in Aylestone 1841 Census, both appear to be widowed.
Living next door to one another.
Born c 1791/1786

Do the Will mention Josephs wife?, Was it Anne?

Upon Reading the will it appears the six children of John Bowley were bore by his housekeeper Mary Hardy Wife of Robert Hardy formerly of Kegworth. It is listed that it is not known whether Robert Hardy is alive or dead. Although it appears John Bowley married Mary Hardy in 1791 the year of his death.
A john bowley is bapt 1777 in Aylestone but no parents are listed.

Just need to find a marriage for Robert Hardy and Mary to find Mary's maiden.

I think Mary is possibly the Mary Goodge who marries Robert Hardy in Loughborough by License 1771 but there is a Robert marrying in Kegworth but not to a Mary.
