Rhydybont Chapel, Llanybydder - Where can I view fiche?
« on: Friday 10 August 18 17:52 BST (UK) »
I am trying to nail down the common ancestor of a DNA match. The common place somewhere along the B4337 road from Llanybydder to Llansawel. My 3 x great-grandparents farmed at "Blaenwern" and "Whibonog" (Chwibonogl) just off the road at Ty Mawr and my match's family lived a mile or so south in Rhydcymerau.

I would like to view the microfiche for the local chapel as I believe it records the 'abode" of the family presenting a child for baptism.. The FHL film number is 0929113 (RG4 3826). I live near Salisbury/Southampton and would be grateful if someone could point me in the right direction.

Benjamin Jones b1830
David "Efail Fach" Jones b1840
Esther Evan b1827
...and lots more.

Many thanks
Thomas, Davies, Jones, Walters, Daniel in Carmarthenshire and Ceredigion. That should narrow it down a bit!
Vincent: Fressingfield, Suffolk, Stockton & Sunderland.
Murtha/Murtaugh: Dundalk & Sunderland
Ingram: Cairnie by Huntly, Scotland then Abergavenny, Monmouthshire.
Bardouleau: London - in memory of my stepmother Annie Rose née Bardouleau who put up with a lot from me.

the non-conformist registers starting RG4 can be accessed on Ancestry & FindmyPast

In RG4/ 3862 there's an Esther Evans bp 9 Nov 1827 in Pantgwyn Calvinistic Methodist Church, Abergwilly daughter of John Evans, shoemaker, & Mary maiden surname Davies.

In RG4/4021 there's a baptism in Rhyd y bont Independent in Llanybydder for Benjamin Jones 8 Sep 1831, born 26 Dec 1830, son of William Jones & Ann late Jones.

The registers were collected by the GRO at the start of civil registration so one from 1840 might not be there.

Thanks Osprey,

I really need to see the original registers (or scans) to see the "abode". I'll have a bash at TNA.

both of the sites mentioned have images of the registers attached -that's where I found the extra detail of maiden names. No abode noted on Benjamin's baptism, just born in the parish of Llanybyddar. That on Esther's baptism isn't clear but looks like it starts Gwary.

Thanks again Osprey,

I’m sure that during a previous trawl, I’d seen the images but my recent Ancestry searches come up without??

I’ll have another bash.

Nope, I can't find any way to see the images so if some kind should could provide an Ancestry link I would be very grateful.
