Charlotte Carrington 1883
« on: Monday 13 August 18 23:14 BST (UK) »
Evening all.
Could someone help me find a marriage/death of this lady, please? Her parents were Charlotte Tuckwood and Edward/Edwin Carrington. On the 1911 census it says that Charlotte and Edwin have no living children. They had 2 children, John born 1873, he died 1876. and Charlotte born 1883. I've tried to find a death but no luck.

Many thanks
Maggie

Edwin and Charlotte Carrington don’t (in the last census) claim to have had more than one child - so that would presumably be John Edwin, who as you say died young.

It is certainly puzzling that in 1891 and 1901 they list a daughter Charlotte, who doesn’t appear to have a birth registration.  Perhaps she was (informally) adopted, and her BMD entries are under another name?  She’s a decade or so older than their niece Charlotte Tuckwood who turns up later, so not her.

Many thanks. I thought it was me!! I got the "1883" from the censuses. I guess I will have to take a chance and send for her birth cert with just the parents named.

Burial 14 Jun 1882 Charlotte Tuckwood aged 5m abode Independent Hill buried at Nottingham St Mary.
7 Nov 1883 Ruth Tuckwood aged 41 abode Independent Hill buried St Catherine.

John and Ruth also baptised in 1880 Eliza Jane and Annie, father was a cordwainer and abode 27 Independent Hill.

Seems this Charlotte died at only 5 months old. Sorry Comberton.

Found a marriage to a Bernard Scothern March q.1927 in Nottingham.....which made her 44yrs. One son, Stanley 1928.

Possibility? Stanley is on the 1939 register as an evacuee in Southwell Nottingham with the Stanfield family. But no Charlotte.
Maggie ???
