Deportation from Scotland
« on: Tuesday 14 August 18 16:54 BST (UK) »
Hi

I have not got a clue how to go about finding anything about a deportation on the 14th of July 1928.

Also I cant make out Robert Hunter's actual name if that makes any sense .  I think it is Joyas Linka
My family belived him to be Polish, but is seems the name Joyas is spanish

Many thanks

I think the word is "Deposition" not deportation.

Please see attached from Scotsman. Jozas Linka married Stephanie Starieukie in 1914. They had four children in Blantyre between 1915 and 1922. There are marriages for three of the children on Scotlandspeople and I can also see subsequent deaths for two of them. Stephanie died in Blantyre in 1961. Jozas ( shown as Jauozas) is aged 19 living with his what I presume are his parents and a sibling in Dalziel, Lanarkshire in 1911.

It definitely looks like deposition to me.

Joyas is not a man's name in Spanish.

Was he convicted for bigamy?
