George Thomas PARKER
« on: Tuesday 14 August 18 19:14 BST (UK) »
I am looking for direction to find any data on George Thomas Parker, dob c.1855. who married KATE BAKER on 22 June 1890 at All Souls Church, Parish of St. Marylebone, county of London.  On the marriage record, he is listed as a tobacconist, and his father is George Parker (gentleman's servant).  Kate's father is James Robert Baker, my great-grandfather.  All I have is the marriage record from 1890.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have George in the 1881 census listed as a tobacconist, but I have been unable to find anything past their marriage record.  I looked for death records - nothing that jumped out - thinking that maybe George or Kate had died, but it went nowhere.

Do you have him before 1881 or is it only after marriage you need info?

Because Kate Baker is in MY line, I'm interested in finding out more about her.  I was getting nowhere there, so I redirected my efforts to George Thomas Parker, thinking that I could perhaps get census records or even a death certificate.

Thanks so much.  I did get onto the Free BDM site looking for her death record, but without finding Kate in a census after they were married, I didn't know where she would've been residing, so I didn't know which district she may have been listed for her date of death.  If they married in 1890 and he died in 1891, that would explain why I haven't been able to find him in the 1901 or 1911 censuses.
At least now I know that she may have even re-married.  Thanks.

I cannot find her in subsequent census records as either Kate Parker or Kate Baker.  After George died in 1891, I thought perhaps she returned to her family, but my great-grand father was in the Dartmouth Union Workhouse in 1901, so she's not in that census.  At that time (he died there in 1905), he was married to his second wife, so it's doubtful Kate would move in with her.
I have looked for a second marriage under Parker/Baker, but nothing.  I even checked to see if she migrated to Australia where others in the family moved, but again, nothing.
