Jamieson in Toronto

I am trying to find details of my great Aunt Elizabeth jamieson who moved to Canada around the 1920,s . She was born in lochwinnoch, Renfrew shire in Scotland around 1900' she  married a kenneth brake in Canada and lived in Toronto but had no children. Laterally she lived with her mother annie jamieson nee mcdonald. I think her mother died mid 1960,s and elizabeth late 1980,s. She also had a brother hugh who I think also lived in Canada.

Possible obituary for Elizabeth.... Globe and Mail 24 Oct 1987, page E8

Elizabeth Brake died at Sunnybrook Medical Centre on Oct 23 1987.  Predeceased by her husband Richard Kenneth Brake. 

No burial place listed - cremation.  No other family mentioned.  Could be your Elizabeth??

Found an obituary for Richard Kenneth Brake in the Globe and Mail 16 Jan 1984, page C12. 

He was called "Ken".  He was the Honourary Commodore of the Toronto Sailing and Canoe Club, Member of the R.C.Y.C (pretty sure this is the Royal Canadian Yacht Club),  Member of the Alexandre Yacht Club, President and Owner of Alumaloy Casting Limited.  He was 82.  He died on 13 January, following a losing fight after a car accident on the 24th of December 1983.  Survived by his wife Elizabeth, God=daughter Greta Moore and her sisters and families.  No burial place mentioned.

Thanks RK for that information. It looks ok to me, with some family information I already have . I will keep trying to find anything on my great grandmother Annie  Jamieson or McDonald.

In case Annie remarried who were her parents?

Hi Cosmac,  she may well have remarried. But, she left hus band and some children in Scotland.  When she came to N America. He died in 1947. Annies parents Hugh Mcdonald and Agnes Bertram.
Annie was born in Glasgow around 1878/79.
