Help dating photos Dorothy Walkey
« on: Thursday 16 August 18 19:17 BST (UK) »
Hi
I think I have photos of my 2xgreat grandparents. But dating these photos would give me more evidence that I think it is them.
I want to know an approx date for the two single photos. If I’m right then the group photo is the woman and girl when they are older. I know where and when the group photo was taken.
My ggrandmother was Dorothy Walkey. Her mother was Ada.

Many thanks

I'm hopeless at dating photos, but this will move them up the board for you. Lovely photos by the way.

I'd say this lady is most likely the lady on the right in the group photo. The high neckline and detail level of the dress suggests 1910s and before. They were not as "in fashion" as the "roaring 20s" came in.
I just like to do photo restores.

Hi
Thank you for this.  I agree that this looks like the lady on the right. That date would tie in with this as the young girl was born in the late 1890’s and looks to be younger than 10. So I suspected it was about 1906/7.
Thank you very much for this information.
