Thomas Fouldes  35 married,  carpenter and joiner bn Oxton Nottinghamshire

1871 has numerous Fould*s bn Oxton, - if you have census access you would be best looking yourself and piecing them together, rather than me just listing them.

Bit confusing as Mary 1805 I found has Parents as RI (Richard)/ELIZTH Birch.

If they married Oxon it was 1794

Richard was buried 28 Jan 1858 age 83

Cant find a Baptism for Martha Birch c 1811 but from 1861 Census lizb just posted maybe Martha had a Mother Elizabeth too?

The Elizabeth I found in 1861 with grandson Henry, can be seen in 1851 in Oxton, with husband Richard .  He is 76, retired blacksmith and born Newton Lincolnshire.

I havent looked at 1861 yet but as you had age 64 in 1861 (c 1797) I thought it couldnt be the one that married Richard 1794.

1841 we have;
Richard Birch 65
Elizabeth Birch 60
Rebecca Birch 20
John Birch   20
John Birch   13

1851
Richard Birch   76
Elizabeth Birch   76

Ok 1861 Anc has her as age 84

As John/Martha seem to have had no children it is hard to know if she was widowed when she married John 1844.

Yes indeed! You did a lot of looking so thank you for that! When I get a moment I will try and sort out all your notes. I don't have census access myself at the moment. I might be able to get a friend to look up, but that will be in a few weeks when he is back from holiday!
Thanks again, this whole marrying and remarrying thing is interesting!

Fouldes.<br />Any area where our family are.  My branch started around Derbyshire, Nott's and Yorkshire.  We ended up in South Lincolnshire!  So yay!  Course any area with Fouldes in would help!  See my family tree below for what gaps I have!  Cheers!

Would also like to see any Beaumont's from Sheffield as I have lots of family photos & can't identify them!!

Mary Foulds was buried at Oxton 29th March 1843, age 33 yrs

I have in my notes already that Mary Foulds died around when that record says. I also have in my notes that a Martha Foulds was born 23/03/1843 and I THINK she died around the same time.

So this sort of suggests that that it was a difficult birth resulting in the death of both mother AND daughter.

The year after this John married Martha Birch (9/4/1844) so he wasted no time! As I mentioned before I wonder if Martha Birch was related to John's deceased wife Mary Foulds (nee Birch)?

-------

Quite the interesting thing!

Here is a little bit more to fill in the gaps.

Apologies, a typo on my part.....the transcript for Mary Fouldes does says she was 38 years old.
Buried at Oxton 29th March 1843
