French 7 gg
« on: Friday 17 August 18 10:15 BST (UK) »
Today I wake up and am more European than  yesterday -- today I know (well think and am almost sure) that I have French GG's

Its funny -

Never a mention from the people that surrounded my childhood, in fact they really only spoke about the generation within which we lived..  Apart from my Nan, who set me off on this crazy game.  :) :) bless her.
So presumably life was too 'actual' - to even consider the fact.

This link is on my Paternal side - and I realised that once I stepped foot into Cornwall it would be a good possibility -  I have posted a query on the Europe board.
Because I cant go dashing over there.
But it is for me - a refresher - another channel (pun :) :) )  to follow :)

They could have been Huguenots who settled in Cornwall.

I also have French Huguenot ancestors. I find it quite nice when I find ancestors who were not from Britain. The last wave of Huguenots came in the 1750s. That was when one of my French ancestors came to England and settled in London.

Yes - it does create an extra wave of interest   ( sooo  sorry)

I am attempting to find more, but so far without the Cornish OPC I would not have realised.

It shows on there that he was from France.. and recently died.

That is Mary Michells marriage... record. of 1711.

I then found his marriage to Ann Guis in Saint Zacharie Var.  1688
:)  all very different and interesting.

So I want WDYTYA to come along and say right -- here is a pic of your 7 gg and his slaves and this is why he left France due to King Louis'  lets blit the protestants attitude. etc.. all neatly packaged .. ha ha ha..

Otherwise a fair bit of reading up and searching for me.. Now which is likely I wonder.
