Where were they born? Help please

I’d really appreciate some help sorting out the questionable locations of ancestors John Bullman c1803-1851 (Journeyman Baker) and Elizabeth Jarvis c1803-1859 who were living in Ardwick around their time of death.  The only marriage record located states they married 1825 Stockport, Cheshire.  Their children were Christiana, Susanna, Andrew, Robert Gibson and Janet.
The damaged 1851 Ardwick census appears to state birth of John Bulman as Sussex Bexhill and for Elizabeth it’s Salop? Newport.  Stated ages are amiss.  I have the birth cert of Robert Gibson and he was 13 in 1851.  Living overseas I’m unfamiliar with locations and google maps is proving way too confusing. 
Any thoughts/guidance would be most helpful, thanks.  PippaR

From what I have read elsewhere that can be convulsions due to high temp whilst teething.
No panadol/anti-biotics in those days sadly

Christiana appears to have been christened at St Dunstan, Stepney, 1 Jun 1828. May be a starting point to look for a marriage.

If the Stockport marriage is the one, they did a lot of travelling.

Came to Stockport, married, down to London and back to Manchester. Possible, but not very common at the time. Right occupation though.

There is also a christening at St Mary, Lambeth, 18 Apr 1824 of John Robert Bower Bulman. Probably a coincidence and not connected.
