Jane Brechon/Breckon c1806 Goathland.
« on: Friday 17 August 18 14:00 BST (UK) »
Hi Guys,
In a post 5 years ago, I asked about a few ancestors and got some very helpful answers. Regretfully nobody mentioned Jane and I am still searching for her parents. Some trees say Ralph Brechon and Margaret Wright but give no explanation how they came to that conclusion  (was it out of a hat ? ).
Jane BRECHON (b.c1806 Goathland) (m.26 Nov 1827 Pickering, to John HUGILL) (bur.29 Jun 1866 Goathland).  On 1841, 51, and 61 census her age was 35, 47, 56 respectively.
   Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,  Dave.

Hi Dave, your post caught my attention because I have Breckon ancestors from Goathland too.

You said that Ralph Breckon and Margaret Wright had been suggested as parents for Jane Breckon but you didn’t know the reason.

If you look up Jane and her husband John Hugill on the 1841 census (spelled Hugel on this one) you will find Ralph Breckon (b. 1786) and Margaret (b. 1781) living next door. It seems likely they were her parents. Especially as William Hugill aged 12 was living with them, so there is some crossover between the families.
