McEvoy- farm on Conlon Hill, Tullyvallen
« on: Tuesday 21 August 18 14:25 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to locate where my family farm may have been - Conlon Hill, Tullyvallen, Armagh is the address on my great great grandmother's will which is dated 1914. It sounds like a considerable farm as the will specifies "the land known as "Doctor's Farm" including the meadow sub-let to Mr Edward Blacker, and "Murthaugh's Meadow"; also the houses thereon" and "the home or large farmhouse, also the houses thereon"

Any other information about the family would be much appreciated - from the will and letters I have pieced together the following but have nothing else.

James Arthur McEvoy ( -1890) was married to Anne Makin.
Their children were:
Hugh
Patrick
John James
Bridget
Michael (Crosmaglen)
Thomas Francis Victor (Chapel St, Dundalk, 1868-1934) - my great grandfather

I have found the Creggan History Society Website useful when researching my Tullyvallen families.
GO to Townlands, then Newtownhamilton Parish then Tullyvallen. There are some McEvoys in Tullyvallen Tipping East.

Thank you - that was really useful and I've subsequently been able to track down a couple of wills, death certs and a cousin in Pennsylvania!
