Looking for information on Reuben Gourlay born 28 February 1864 in (Dornock), Kirkpatrick Fleming, Dumfrisshire.  His parents are William Gourlay and Mary Bell.

Hi if you go to the Scotlands People website and search Reuben Gourlay 1860-1965 you will find there's 1 birth although this is in 1879 1 matching death and 2 possible marriages nothing is coming up for census but there are 8 possible in the valuation rolls
The 1881 LDS census on Scotlands People shows Reuben Gourley age 1 living at Dwelling Irvington Kirkpartick Fleming with his mother Mary as head of the house age 43 and sister Emma age 11, Ellen age 9, Williamina Irving age 5 all born Kirkpatrick Fleming

Added there is a birth on Family search for a Reuben Gourley in 1866 in Kirkpatrick but his parents are John Gourley and Christina Strewart

Found him he is registered under Gorley for both birth and death and died in 1865 age 1 mothers m.s Bell at Kirkpatrick ref number 837/15

Thank you for this information, this Reuben Gourley will be the 28 february 1864 , but I also found another Reuben Gourley born 1851, kirkpatrick Fleming to the same parents but cannot find a birth or death for this one!!.  The Reuben born 1851 is on the 1851 census his parents William Gourlay and Mary Bell are living with Mary's parents Simon and Janet Bell and their children in Dornock, Kirkpatrick Fleming, Dumfrieshire.

Civil registration didn't start until 1855 in Scotland have had a quick look can't find any records and he isn't with the family in 1861 possibly died between 1851 and 1855 do you know where the parents are buried if there is a headstone there maybe an note on that

Also just to add the Reuben born in 1879 will be the son of Samuel Gourlay and Mary Irving Samuel would be the younger brother of William Gorley/Gourlay  and the 1866 one born to John and Christina John another brother All 3 sons of Reuben Gorley/Gourlay and Emily Bell
