Looking for George Mellor born 1842 Manchester Lancashire California records

Looking for any records of George Mellor born to George Mellor & Elizabeth Barnett 1842 Manchester Lancashire UK.  His wife was Elizabeth or Lizzie Kane born 1852 New Brunswick Canada.
Their children Elizabeth,George,Sarah,Benjamin,Mary,Margueritte & Gertrude we’re all born in California Between the years 1870-1885 .
I have been unable to find a marriage or George on any census records in the US .
His wife Lizzie in the 1900 Census says she’s widowed living in Market st SAN Fransisco.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

and the earliest sighting, if we are to try and trace George...

California Voters List - shows Elizabeth - widowed (Benjamin., Sadie and Mamie also at this address)   at 439 1/2 Bryant - 1896/1897/1898

I found an 1870 Census a George Millard Cook in Hotel in Sacramento Ward 5 but Lizzie’s age doesn’t seem to fit.

There is a George A Mellor - 775 Market Rear San Francisco 1878 transcribed as waiter Dwl  - listing gives - cook - City and County Hospital , E's Potrero Av, between twenty second and twenty third.


Could be the same guy as above (not sure he would be the correct one) - George Mellor - California Great Registers, 1866-1910

That could very well be him.👍The 1880 Census has Lizzie as married so George must have still been alive then.

1910 census says Elizabeth had been married 40 years - which fits with the birth of Elizabeth Barnett Mellor.

Statewide registration of deaths began in 1905 with general compliance by 1920.
