GRO/Free BMD

Please can anybody help?

I'm looking for the death reg reference of an Ellen Pilkington. Her maiden name would have been Owen/Owens. She died in Liverpool circa 1986. BMD tells me they can't find it and GRO only lets me search the date up to 1957?

I've found the registration of her siblings who died in 2006 but struggling with this one.

When was she born please, even if approximately? If you have her precise birthdate from e.g. the 1939 Register that would be even better.

One possibility: Ellen Pilkington born 24 Jan 1919, died Jun qtr 1986 Liverpool 36 1047.

I had no idea! I found Alice Hume (Owen/s)(05/12/1916) and Frederick Owen (29/05/1921) who both died in 2006 (I think) in Liverpool. The references I got though looked like

Fred - 2006 025/1H Register H41D
Alice - 2006 025/1D Register D4/D Volume -1 page -1

Is this right? It's not in the same style as any others I've found?

I found Ellen's death registration on FindMyPast

the transcriptions from familysearch are incomplete

for this year, the entries should read

death year, name of deceased, date of birth, registration district and district number, register number, entry number, month of registration

so for Frederick Owen's entry you should get

2006, Frederick Owen, 29MY1921, Liverpool 0251H, reg number: H41D, entry: 274, dor: 05/2006

You will need the entry number before you can order from the GRO.

The registration quarter (created by host sites not the GRO) and register number are not required when you order from the GRO.
