Help with deciphering this short line.
« on: Sunday 26 August 18 22:07 BST (UK) »
Hi. I've been looking at one of my great grandmother's birth record in a parish record in Moffat, Dumfriesshire. I know who her parents are but I'm curious about this certain part which show the father's occupation as a weaver, but I can't quite read the next few words. If anyone could be able to translate this for me, it would be greatly appreciated!

TIA.

I thought that too, but not sure if it would make sense.  Would there be a company or a place in the relevant area called Riddings?

Found a better map!

The place that's marked Reddings on the modern map is called Riddings on the old OS maps:

Gadget- Yes that's it. Make sense since My great grandmother was baptised in Moffat. Oddly enough, I've lived in Moffat my whole life, and not once, I've heard of Riddings! Surprising what you learn every day though....

Many thanks to the others who helped me on this. It's much appreciated.
