Pentwyn Churchyard, (St Marys) Fochriw. Following Mabel's find.

https://www.peoplescollection.wales/items/487246  spreadsheet, by surname listed in alphabetical order.  Edward Owen of address you gave is buried here and listed.

https://www.peoplescollection.wales/items/487249 registers

If problems viewing spreadsheet, click on Author name and scroll down to burial spreadsheet, seems to load better. You may find other family members!

Good luck,

Cas

Thank you very much for this, Cas.  I found Edward, and also, his wife Jane (my Grandmother’s grandmother) and their son, Edward Thomas.  Will have to decipher further to figure out if they are buried together, or in different locations. This is the first I have seen on the date of Jane’s death.  Perhaps I can visit the cemetery some day.

Thanks again, Ann

Moiralou, when the weather gets a little better I will go up to Fochriw and get a photo of the Owen grave (graves) headstone if there is one.

Attached is the photo of Edward Owen headstone.  The headstone gives an age of 46 years and a date of death of 19 July 1896.  No inscription for Jane or son Edward Thomas but there were a few graves each side with no headstone.

Thanks, Ray.  It was very kind of you to do that for me.  I really appreciate it.

On the spreadsheet that Cas provided, my relatives are listed

Edward Owen grave number A492
Jane Owen grave number F99
Edward Thomas Owen grave number F24

Was it difficult to find the headstone? Do you know if the (very) different grave numbers means their graves are not near each other? Is there a map of the graveyard available somewhere?

Sorry for all the questions, my sister is visiting Wales from the USA next month and I think she will visit the churchyard.

Thanks again -

Ann

Ann, have sent a pm.  The numbers you quoted are the register numbers not grave numbers. The grave number is P2 R8 and will be very easy to find.
