re:James McAteer is it possible that he could have married x2? i have located children with James listed as Father .i do realize that there is a big  possiblility of more than one James McAteer. If i  use the Dorothea Fulton/James McAteer marriage date 1852 these children listing a James a father would be too young to marry even by 1800 standards. An earlier marriage of James McAteer and Anne Miller 1847 makes more sense   ie.Samuel Mcateer(father James) m. MaryAnn Lucas 11 July 1865.

i think my big question is how do you isolate your specific relation. thank you in advance

we do not know how old he was when he married so possibly he could have been married twice and then died long before his second wife
