Sarah Hawthorne, Belfast, HELP! COMPLETED with THANKS
« on: Wednesday 29 August 18 17:46 BST (UK) »
Hello all,

According to the 1911 Ireland census Sarah Hawthorne was born about 1905 in Belfast to Samuel Hawthorne, a mill overlooker, & Mary McCalmont, who married 8 Feb. 1900.
I have found on GRONI all 10 of Sarah's siblings using various spellings for her mother & a straight searches for Hawthorne & Hawthorn births. I searched GRONI from 1900 onwards with no luck. There are several Sarah's but not the one I'm looking for.
I even searched scotlandspeople on the off chance the family had lived there for a short time; no joy.
I have found my Sarah Hawthorne at 61 York Road, Belfast in the 1960 Belfast directory & proved through previous years the correct family.
Can anyone suggest what I have overlooked in finding Sarah Hawthorne's date of birth?

Thank you.

aghadowey & hallmark,

Thank you very much for the link. I didn't know that site existed, it's great.
I had seen the McConnell listing at GRONI but because there were others births under McConnell & it was in Lisburn I ignored it. I hate transcription errors.

aghadowey, you hit on the right birth.

Thank you.

It's not a transcription error- the registration gives the mother's maiden name as McConnell.  ;)

Two marriages would have been a thought except my search shows McCalmont/McCammond children before & after Sarah.
aghadowey got it right.
