Schools in Gorton/Openshaw 1910
« on: Wednesday 29 August 18 21:40 BST (UK) »
Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

I'm trying to find what schools would have been open around 1910 in Gorton and Openshaw and if any admission logs still survive. If anyone knows where these would be stored too, it would be extremely helpful.
Thank you, Regards
Pauline

Is this any help? It lists schools. FindMyPast has some admission registers.

The Historical Directories website has Manchester directories for the years 1909 and 1911 which provide comprehensive lists.

I had a look at the 1911 directory and you want 1911 part 3, 'Trades, Ecclesiastical etc' which is here
http://specialcollections.le.ac.uk/cdm/compoundobject/collection/p16445coll4/id/218295/rec/26

Using the drop down page menu on the right hand side of the screen, The Educational Directory starts on page 337. The lists of elementary and national schools start on page 344 (you will see from that link I did a search for the words, "School, Openshaw, Gorton")

Hope that helps
