I am searching for any information about Richard Lougher. He was a blacksmith in Whitchurch, Cardiff based at The Three Elms Coaching Inn. I know he was an Anglican who regularly attended St Mary's Church in Whitchurch but that's about all I can find out. Please help

There is a Richard Lougher, coachbuilder living in the right place in 1901

Registration district   Cardiff
Piece number   4971
Folio   171
Page   8

The 1911 shows the above in the same place with the address as Philog House Merthyr Road Whitchurch, Whitchurch, Glamorganshire

Googling the Three Elms Coaching Inn produces a link for Three Elms Merthyr Rd, Cardiff CF14 1JE which suggests that the pub still exists today.

A Richard Lougher, blacksmith mentioned here-
http://www.whitchurchandllandaff.co.uk/Chronicle_11.html

"Opposite on the corner of Birchgrove Road was the house where Richard Lougher, the village Blacksmith lived.  He and his wife walked to St. Mary’s Church every Sunday morning always wearing black, and Mr. Lougher in a top hat." … "On the other side stood the Three Elms public house, the name of which was taken from three elm trees which stood outside Ararat church wall.  Between the Three Elms and the Whitchurch brook, the Blacksmith’s shop of Mr. Lougher stood, at the side of which was an opening to the brook in which was an iron plate used to fit the iron bands on cart wheels as required."
