I am attempting to attach a marriage cert to my Sibbalds in Weymss.

What I have is:

Catherine my 7gg married James Logie in 1689.

Brilliant but when I try to take Catherine back a stage, the marriage for her parents wont show.

her baptism shows Elspth Hew and James Sibbald as parents.


I have searched every which way and written to SP .. but cannot fathom it.

They also have a son James in 1665 --
Catherine born   1669

So

I found Elspeth Hew married to A 'LOGIE'

now I am all mixed up

Coverage of baptisms in the Wemyss OPR begins in 1660.  There are no marriages recorded there before 1662 and no burials before 1709.

If your ancestors lived, married and died in Wemyss, this might explain why you cannot find records to support your research on ScotlandsPeople.  :-\
