William Batcheller (Batchellor) marriage
« on: Saturday 01 September 18 12:22 BST (UK) »
I have found two 1538-1973 England Marriage records for William as follows:

15 Jan 1754 to Ann Pierce in Shipley, Sussex, as Batcheller
13 Jan 1755 to Ann Pierce in Shipley, Sussex, as Batchellor

How could this be possible, and what would it mean? Can anyone help.

1041562 is the film number for the Bishop's transcripts
0919101 is the film number for the original parish records.

Copies of the parish registers were meant to be sent to the bishop of each diocese from 1698 onwards (some continue even after civil registration).

Without looking at the originals there's no way of knowing if the date was mixed up when the bishop's transcript was made, or if when the transcription of the records was made, but if you were going to look at one original source I would make it the parish records.
