Migration form Germany 1600s
« on: Sunday 02 September 18 02:46 BST (UK) »
My ancestors migrated form Wurttemberg, Germany in the 1600s.  A Jacob HOLDER, occupation: Butcher came to Gloucestershire early 1600s and his Sons also Jacob were indentured as apprentices.  Most were Butchers however another Jacob Holder was apprenticed to a Grocer, Harlewood WELLS.
Two questions if I may.  Why did German butchers migrate to Gloucestershire?

Any kind soul have ancestors named HOLDER in early Gloucestershire or have information relative to this family line?
Kind regards
