Thanks for the replies
Hello Jamjar
You are correct her Mother Maiden name was Tyler
Siblings would be Sheila Ruth Fitzgerald born 7 Jam 1921 and John Henry Alexander Fitzgerald 6 June 1926.
The 1911 Census is not correct as the parents dates do not fully align
For Henry Fitzgerald it is Detail Class: RG14; Piece: 2212
For Alice Maud Tyler http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=1911england&h=1235153&ti=5538&indiv=try&gss=pt
Hello Mckha489
Henry Fitzgerald was not Married Alice Maud until 1919 but looks like he MAY have been married before! I need to review ALL the details an the links you both sent to me.
Many thanks for your help! ???

Have you considered that you may have wrongly attributed this - Elizabeth Ann Fitzgerald was baptised 25 Apr 1914 at St Luke, Stepney Tower Hamlets London - to the Fitzgerald/Tyler union, given their marriage date, the fact that the other two children were born in the 1920s and you say no sign of Elizabeth after birth.

I think she belongs to Fitzgerald/Saunders and that it is they who were living at the Poplar address you have indicated.

Their second son was registered at Poplar:

FITZGERALD, HENRY CHARLES mmn SAUNDERS
GRO Reference: 1908 J Quarter in MILE END OLD TOWN Volume 01C Page 428

FITZGERALD, THOMAS GEORGE mmn SAUNDERS
GRO Reference: 1912 J Quarter in POPLAR Volume 01C Page 958

The births then in 1910 and 1914 are probable:

FITZGERALD, MAUD ALICE mmn SAUNDERS
GRO Reference: 1910 D Quarter in STEPNEY Volume 01C Page 330

FITZGERALD, ELIZABETH ANN mmn SAUNDERS
GRO Reference: 1914 J Quarter in POPLAR Volume 01C Page 972

I doubt that the chap married to Tyler is the same in both cases. Guess he could have married two Alice Maud’s, though. 😉

There are two Henry's and two Alice Mauds

The 1907 marriage Henry's father is Matthew FITZGERALD and Henry is 24 so born c 1883
The 1919 marriage Henry's father is Alexander FITZGERALD and Henry is 27 so born about 1892

also
Death for Maud Alice 1911 J qtr, Poplar 1c 271
explains why she isn't listed with the other 3 siblings in the WW1 record.

Looking at the 1939 register there is a person with that name living with an Alice M Fitzgerald at 54 Farmways Ilford. She was born 6 June 1914 and Alice 22 Mar 1884. It looks like they both married later, Alice to a Jones and Elizabeth to a Collins. She was an inspector in radio and electronics. Maybe she is your girl? But in your detail she’s baptised before her birth so not sure I’m right.

actual birth date is on father's WW1 file   9th April 1914
there is another son too. Thomas George b 29 March 1912

and address on WW1 file is 22 Devons Road, Poplar, so definitely the same family

Birth 9 April fits nicely with registration and baptism for Elizabeth.

March fits with 1912 June quarter registration, I think.

The Henry born in 1883, father Matthew, maybe, on the 1891 census:

The Henry married to Tyler, father Alexander, maybe:

Hello Jamjar and Mckha489
As you rightly say the Henry born in 1883 father is Matthew.
The Henry married to Tyler, father Alexander is correct. Henry is my Grandfather and Alexander is my Great Grandfather.
I really need to sit down and digest all of this in detail.
Again thank you both for all the other information.
