Thomas Lowe
« on: Sunday 02 September 18 08:36 BST (UK) »
Can  anyone help trace this family .
I can only find them twice, even  with an unusual name I`m still struggling apart from that I know Esther was a Nicholas.

1871 Dawley  Shrops
Thomas Lowe 28 blacksmith  b Heighton, Shropshire,
Esther Lowe 30 b Bishops castle
Lucetta A Lowe 2  b Dawley
Esther Nicholas 77 mother  in law b Cleobury Mortimer

1891 Wrexham
Thomas blacksmith
Esther
Harry 10
Annie 5

Thomas Lowe died in 1895 in Wrexham, his grave states "late of Shrewsbury"
Esther died 1916 in Altrincham Cheshire
Lucette  Lowe also died in Altrincham 1917 un married.
Thanks.

And, 1861 census:

RG09/1855/83/34

Lowe, Thomas  Head  M  50  b Dawley
Lowe, Ann  Wife  F  50  b High Ercall
Lowe, Thomas  Son  M  18  Blacksmith  b Tibberton

Thomas is a blacksmith on the 1891 census :D
And there is a link with Dawley on the 1871 census?

Why do you think that Lowe is an unusual name?

There are 620 Thomas Lowe to be found in the 1861 census; 42 of them in Shropshire ;D

I thought their daughter Lucette would be easy to trace.

Full name of Lucette is Lucette Annie Lowe, mmn Nicholas (Sep qtr 1868 Madeley) - looks likely she’s the “Annie L” from 1901, having adjusted her age downwards a bit.

Death is Dec qtr 1916 Bucklow, aged 48.
