Loughborough All Saints records prior to 1800
« on: Sunday 02 September 18 13:54 BST (UK) »
Hi
I have been trying to research ancestors in Loughborough but seem to have problems with the on-line sites for baptisms in Loughborough prior to 1800. Marriages and deaths seem to be OK but there is a definite shortage of baptisms. I am prepared to buy the transcripts of the records but before I spend money on this does anyone know if there is a problem with either the recording of baptisms or the state of the records which might account for this?
Many thanks
Pauline

Thanks for the offer but having tried as suggested above, I still got nothing. I think my lot must have not bothered over several generations or more likely been non-conformists.
Regards

Have some references for non-conformist baptisms if you would like me to have a look

You're so kind. The one I need first is william Grimley who was born in Loughborough in 1796 or 7 or so he claimed in three censuses. But anyone called Grimley in Loughborough before 1800 might be useful as I cannot find a single baptism.
Thanks again for your interest.
Regards
Pauline.

Sorry drawn a blank, checked a pdf for All Saints and there are plenty of Grimley marriages but no early baptisms
