Hello again, I'm afraid I need your help again. I'm trying to find out who Robert Ellis's father was. Robert was born around 1761 and married Ann Blackburn on 2nd October 1786 in Rothwell Holy Trinity. His father, however, is proving elusive.
I think Robert and Ann had around 8 children. Joseph 1787, William 1789, Benjamin 1790, John 1791, Robert 1792, Zechariah 1794, Elizabeth 1794 and Samuel 1797.
Ann died in 1797 age 31. I was wondering if she died from complications from child birth.

If it were me I'd be looking at the PCC Wills of York for Rothwell.
There are Robert Ellis 1813 presumably yours
Samuel 1774 and John 1768 .
They do have to be ordered from the Borthwick Institute in York which is a pain but I think would be worth a look.
