Wivenhoe - you are probably right about Florence and her names so will check this out further.
I had just found the Clarkson birth registered in 1984.  Interesting that Caroline's name was not changed at the time of adoption so I wonder if Hannah is connected to the Ebbetts?

I don't particularly want to spend any money obtaining the m/c as Florence is not a family member.

I will see if I can find further info on Caroline.

The 1919 ER for Waipawa has a Violet Caroline Amy Clarkson at Matatera, spinster.
Hannah Clarkson is at Mataman - married.
The NZ DIA BMD Index for 1892/113 has a marriage for Hannah Portice/Valentine Clarkson

Again the year of her birth does not match, i.e. 1894 but maybe the same lady as Caroline Amy Violet?

Thanks Minniehaha for this info.
Also the death record in the same cemetery for Hannah Clarkson also notes "interred with ashes of Violet Clarkson".  I have viewed the photo.

The 1896 ER for Taranaki has an Elizabeth Ann Ebbett, Opunake, domestic, residential.  Could this be "Lizzie"?

Elizabeth Ann Ebbett married 1900/285 to William Thomas Samson

The earliest that I found Albert Elgar was in the 1905/6 ER for Egmont at Inglewood, Plumber
