John Robson

Having John Robson s in your family tree is tough. Having John son of John in Gateshead is really tough esp if they are relatively close relatives. Thanks to the 1939 census it looks like there has been a bit of a shift but I'm no closer to seeing who the living relatives are.

I have John Robson b 27 Feb 1914  d Mar Q 2000 aged 86. John was living in the Felling/Windy Nook area of Gateshead all his life.

I'm not sure of the papers back then but I'd imagine their would be an obituary in Newcastle Evening Chron.

John's father was John & mother was Maria Jane (Wardle)

Any help appreciated.

I think one sister was  b Mar Q 1932.....The other one for sure was Mona....but perhaps there was another one.....not sure

As you know the mother's maiden name have you tried either FreeBMD or the GRO site to look for other births?

You will need to be careful re siblings as there was another Robson/Wardle marriage in Gateshead

1907 - James Wm Robson to Sarah Wardle.  Your couple married 1910.   However - there are 2 x 1914 John Robson/Wardle births in Gateshead.  One in March qtr and the other June qtr

Tricky one Carole  ;D

BHB, If you narrow down your 'family' names, you may be able to work out who's possibly who i.e. named after both parental lines?

I do think there will likely be an obituary in the Evening Chronicle but would posting something like that on here in such a 'recent' paper not be breaching copyright?

Then if names of living relatives were posted would that not be breaching data protection?

Please correct me if these beliefs are wrong - I am not really an expert in such matters but always try to err on the side of caution.
