Claybury Asylum in Redbridge
« on: Sunday 02 September 18 23:50 BST (UK) »
Hi, everyone. I hope I've posted this in the correct section.

I’m trying to find information about my great grandmother. She was placed in Claybury Asylum in Redbridge somewhere between 1930-1939. Census records show that she was in the Asylum in 1939 and died there at the age of 81 in 1967 from pneumonia. Her name was Lavinia Lucy Doubleday.

I would like to know why she was admitted. If you are no able to answer my query, could you please point me in the right direction to find this answer? Many thanks
