Holme Cultram Burials
« on: Friday 07 September 18 13:39 BST (UK) »
Can anyone please help
I've just found one of my ancestors burial record
The were buried at Holme Cultram in February 1848
My guess is that that are in an unmarked paupers grave
Does anyone know if there is a graveyard map, showing burial plots, and who is buried where.
Many thanks in advance

There may be some records held in the church but they're not always perfect. If you go onto the Carlisle Diocese website you can get contact details for the incumbent in charge or alternatively contact the Diocesan Office at Carlisle cathedral. Sorry but I don't have their number. Good luck!

Carlisle Library will probably have cemetery plans and burial records together with the location of the plot and who paid for it.
You could try searching on CASCAT to see if there is any mention of it.

Have you checked find a grave.com ?

I have a lot of interest in Holme Cultram ( Brown and Brough surnames) and found this 3 minute video on you tube interesting, especially as it shows the significant extent of the grave yards.

Good luck
