Charles, HINCHEY (INCHIE), born 1833, Greenwich(?)

Hello,

Other than his criminal history from 06/1849 to 06/1854, the latter being his early release date from Parkhurst Prison, I can find no information for this gentleman.   It is thought his parents, Patrick and Keziah HINCHEY, lived at 5 York Street, Greenwich, according to the 1851 Census (HO107/1586/136, p.50), and as mention of the address ONLY in his  criminal records

Hopefully someone will kindly provide more details

His crime was stealing a pair of trousers from Mr Parry Flagon Row Deptford.It was a shop and he was with two other lads who got away but he was caught by PC White.

Wonder if this is Patrick’s marriage

Patrick Hinchy widower married Kezia West 12 Dec 1841 St Nicholas, Deptford.

Thank you for the posts which have offered some distinctly new thoughts.

The background is beginning to fill in nicely, although I should add that Patrick's second marriage was very close after his first wife Eliza died!!

Incidentally, the records indicate Charles HINCHEY did not re-offend after 1854.

I am not convinced Michael & Mary are (H)Incheys - the "do" on the image relied on by Ancestry for their transcription is rather vague
