Waterside McGettigan's/Kelly's/Doherty's
« on: Friday 07 September 18 18:35 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

Trying to trace my Donegal McGettigan cousins who moved to Derry in the early 1900s. Mary Anne Hegarty married Daniel McGettigan and had seven children between 1893 and 1907. Daniel died in 1914 in a railway accident at Magherabeg, and Mary Anne settled in Waterside after this with some of her children (living at 2 Moore Street).

One daughter, Annie McGettigan (born 1898) married Joseph Doherty (from Rossille Street) in 1924 at St. Columb's. He was a bar attendant.

Another daughter, Bridget Frances (born 1905) married Thomas Kelly (a storekeeper from Irish Street, Derry). This marriage was also at St. Columb's.

I'm trying to find if either couple had children and what became of their families. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Rohan
