Hi
I am researching relatives who, at an educated guess, may have moved to Tipperary from London in the early 1920s - to escape the attentions of the law as it happens - and lived there until the mid 1930s when they re-emerge in England. It is more a hunch than an educated guess even, but the family had historical roots in Tipperary and it is a lead worth following. At this stage, I don't have precise information on whereabouts in Tipperary the family's historical roots were centred.
My sense is that the Electoral Registers covering Tipperary from the early 1920s to the mid 1930s would be a good place to search, assuming that they have survived. My relatives used a variety of names over the years in the interests of covering their tracks, so there would be a fair bit to search, but it is a start.
So my question is - have the Electoral Registers for the whole of Tipperary survived? And if so, any advice on where and how they could be accessed would be appreciated. If they are only available by local area within Tipperary that would be good to know too, as I will have to focus my attention on finding better information on their precise historical roots within the County to narrow the search down.
Cheers
