Giles - Wiveliscombe

I am interested in Isat Giles who in the 1851 census is living with her parents John & Mary Giles in Wiveliscombe aged 7.

FreeReg includes the Wiveliscombe baptisms and there is an Issac Giles listed with parents John and Mary Giles who's age would be appropriate for Isat. 

Does anyone have access to the original of the register who could check for me?

Yes I saw that registration and I think it's likely to be her... but Wiveliscombe is in Wellington district so I thought the PR info would be helpful too.

Isaac Giles baptised 3 Dec 1843 to John a labourer and Mary Giles.  Definitely says Isaac.

Is she a witness to sister Ann's wedding in 1863?

Yes that's likely her.  She marries in 1868 but been a little tricky to pin down because she's Izette in all the later censuses. 

Thanks for your help.  I strongly suspect the baptism is her since the dates work but I suppose we'll never know

I agree with you most likely to be her.  All I can think is the name was misheard and put down as Isaac in error.

I hadn’t heard of the name Isat before reading your post!
