I think it is a sort of trademark, who M and Co are I don’t know, they started in 1912 so that might help to identify them.

This might be a contender, but not sure.

Hi,

Welcome to RootsChat.

Can you post the wording before 1912 please?

Greetings, and a warm welcome to  Rootschat.

This is one of those questions that could be rather hard to solve.  "M & Co" since 1912 could be one of many businesses founded in 1912 large or small just about anywhere.

Do you know where the badge came from (a country or preferably somewhere more local)?
Did the badge belong to one of your forebears?
Was the badge in a collection with other items that might be identifiable?

If you could answer any of these questions it could help to narrow the search.

All the best
Philip

(ADDED - if the lion is wielding a hammer it might suggest blacksmithing or a mechanical/industrial trade, but that's just a guess!)
