Ancestry has uploaded many of the Anglican parish registers for the Sydney Diocese.  Including the 1929 one with his second marriage.   The signature there matches up to his 1964 signature on the letter on the naa file.   He was Henry George when marrying in 1929.     but  umm,  clergy recorded him as a bachelor, born in W.A.

Very odd, JM.

If he was legally divorced prior to the second marriage, why did he need to falsify his details? Maybe he wasn’t aware that the divorce was finalised.

At least Catherine’s details are correct: 1907 C11444 Catherine Iris Stewart Steele parents Peter John and Edith Esther Hobson.

Perhaps he had not yet collected the Decree Absolute from his solicitors, or had not paid the solicitor's fees ... 

Well, there's the electoral rolls ....    and for Western Australia in 1931, in Perth !  Charles Arthur HARGRAVE, loco cleaner;  Charles Arthur HARGRAVE, fireman;  1937 in Kalgoolie, Charles Arthur HARGRAVE, loco fireman;   (ADD,  yes, two in 1931, likely a move of address with a work promotion during depression years)...

I have not kept close lookout for other Charles Arthur HARGRAVE except to note there were electoral roll entries around Sydney for someone of that name in similar time frame...
