Hi my grandad is Francis thomas lakin born 1945 I thought I found his mum and dad but the dates don't add up so any info would be a great help thanks

Birth registration gives mother's maiden name of Symcox in 1945 .  And there is a marriage between Lakin and Symcox in 1930

Not sure what "doesn't add up" !
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thanks that what i have but I got his mum married a john thomas lakin born 1907 died 1942 but frank was born 1945

OK, I see  :)  Have you got your grandfather's birth certificate?

Nope I started all this left it couple of years looked at it then notices the dates didn't match up lol. I know he had a brother called william 1930-2000
Sis margaret 1931-2012 Roy 1932  Barbara 1937-1976 rose may 1942-1981 frank 1945

I think you have gone a bit astray as it looks like Ada died 1967 I can't even find the 1942 death for someone born c1907 for someone named Ada

1/4 1967 Stafford Ada Lakin c1908

There is a monumental transcript link on FindMyPast where you can order a transcript but the link doesn't work and I'm bu**red if I and find the Monumental Transciptions site

It is John T Lakin bn c1907 who died  in 1942 not Ada :)
