Margaret McQueen
« on: Tuesday 18 September 18 12:00 BST (UK) »
Hi
I am trying to trace a McQueen also. Born about 1870 to Mary (possibly McAuley). Margaret was illegitimate but took her fathers name of McQueen. She and Mary seemed to have lived with Margaret's aunt Mary McCalmen in 1871 where Mary is a dressmaker. Margaret and Mary moved to Glasgow area and in 1901 they are in Kilmarnock, Margaret is working as a Mantle warehousewoman. Margaret also goes on to have an illegitimate child in 1902 and the trail goes completely cold. Can anyone add anything?
Heather

Welcome from me too Susannah.

I asked a moderator to start this thread for you. I think it will get more attention here than where it was (tacked on to the end of my old thread).  :)

Welcome from me too Susannah!  ;)

Can you please give us the ages given in 1901 & what surname each were recorded as, where born on census & what was the name of the child born 1902 & where born please?

I'm struggling to find them in 1901, found one with a bit of mismatch  ::)

Mary McCalman or McAulay appears to have died in Bowmore & Killarow in 1902 age 55.
