I cannot thank all of you enough! Finding her name has just opened everything up. You guys are amazing!

May I ask how you do it? What tools do you use? I've used Ancestry.com, with the upgrade for international archival sources and have had good success locating other people in the past but just turned up nothing for this search. And I've been really diligent at it! I have lots of professional historian friends who would be interested in your method.

She was good fun.  Opened up by that initial discovery by MaureenNY of her death in the newspapers.
I don't know how she found it, but I did it by putting Miss Nicholson Palestine into the Newspaper search. Then paging through the resultant entries after 1920 (as you had said she was active until well into the 20th century)
Thereafter I used both FindMyPast (mainly for newspapers) and Ancestry.  Shume found the passenger lists on Ancestry.
I find that sometimes there are variations in indexing between FindMyPast and ancestry so a search works better in one than the other.

There is more to be found about the family I feel, but stopped pending your input.
I've been wondering about the money.... and the Aunt.

Of course I know you know this but for context for the next bit..

" Mildmay’s origins stretch back to the mid-1860s and the work carried out by  The Reverend William Pennefather, a vicar at St Judes, and his wife Catherine. St Judes which was located in Mildmay Park, Islington, was a lively Victorian church of over 1,000 people ."

Alice NICHOLSON married Archibald GLEN 14 April 1877 at St Judes and gave her address as St Jude's Vicarage.
