Could it be continental or US?  Chair is on the "wrong" side.

Jane :-)

Well spotted, unless the print has been reversed.

I suspect it has been reversed too Jan.

Thanks for all the responses so far everyone.

I would think this is 95% a reversed image as I don't know anybody connected to this part of the family that'd send them a picture from USA or Europe.

Doesn't he lady's shoes help at all in dating it? It's not clear but they look like big feet for a woman.

Any guesses at the ages also?

I was also trying to work out whether she was wearing trousers, if so would that help with dating?

Here's the image reversed.  Looks like our motor-cyclists might be wearing trousers, and a long coat.

Just a thought ~

I have a pic of my Mother and her sister on a motor bike/sidecar combination with backdrop  taken in a studio circa late 1920s - early 1930s.

Could this have been taken in a similar photo studio set?

I also have a photo from another branch that have this type of photo. I automatically thought the same.

I thought the lady on the bike looked to be in her 50s. I can't imagine a lady of that age in trousers in that period though.

I must say, they both look thrilled to be there.

To be honest, Gadget, I've been wondering the same thing - I am sure shots like this would have been very popular at the sea-side!

I know that everyone thinks the person on the bike is a woman but could it be the man in this photo? And the sidecar lady the lady on the right? The boy was born in 1927.
