removing passwords from a borrowed Laptop
« on: Wednesday 19 September 18 14:01 BST (UK) »
For the past 2 weeks or so I have been using a borrowed laptop while mine was being repaired. Can anyone tell me how to  remove Rootschat from this PC before giving it back.
This is an HP laptop with windows 7.
I have the same problem with several other sites I have been using including my e-mail.
Help please.

Giving it back to Whom?
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.

Hi

If it's Firefox

Go to Tool -> options -> privacy and security -. saved logins

Select all the sites that list your  login names and passwords and delete them

other browsers have similar procedures.

Have you tried going  Tools>Options and deleting all Cookies  ??

If the OP does that, they might delete cookies that the owner of the laptop needs. I think it's safest to go down the specifically selected saved passwords route.

Knew that Rootschatters would be able to help. Thank you both for the advice. The HP laptop is a spare one belonging to a friend but I want to hand it back the way I got it.

Did it ask you if you wanted to save Passwords or not?

If it didn't... then they aren't saved!!  You would need to say Yes if it asked, for them to be saved!

Otherwise just leave Cookies etc alone!

Thought it might have been one from a shop!   ;D

Yes...if the poster does that, saved Passwords etc would be lost!
