Sorry I don't know how to do that and the people on the first information weren't the right ones.

After some searching of Clare, tattykeel, and that the Legnacash ones border with other countries some there and some Tyrone it has already been a search and a half that I keep giving up on! Now the trip is set for April, so I want to get all my information together so I can get the right documentation when I'm there and visit the right areas and graves.
Thank you for your help.

No need to keep starting new topics- you can always add to an existing one (thanks to hallmark for finding at least two previous ones which may be relevant).

do you know if that 6a2r30p would show us the land on a map  when we got there?
I posted link for Griffith's Valuation and you can search the maps on that site

Church of Ireland ..that's protestant?
Protestant churches are COI, Presbyterian, Reformed Presbyterian, Methodist, Congregationalsit, etc. Where does COI come into this now? the 1855 marriage was at Orritor Presbyterian Church and marriages usually take place in the bride's church so that would be the place to look for her family.

Is there anywhere in Tyrone I can visit or email before to see how long they rented the land or if it was a tied cottage?
At that period most people were tenants. You can follow the property from the printed version of Griffith's Valuation until c1930 in the Valuation Revision Books.

One of your other threads shows the surname as McKenzie so you really don't have any basis for thinking that Margaret McKenny of Legnacash is the same family- remember that not household is listed in Griffith's.

My great granny MaryAnne McKinney was born in 1832 in Legnacash, Kildress,Tyrone
How do you know that she was born in Legnacash? Did you assume this from her marriage certificate? Marriage residence is only where the bride and groom were living at the time of the marriage and may not be where they were born or where their families were living.

Map showing location of Legnacash townland-

Clare townland is just across the road and other side of Drum Manor-

Tattykeel is a separate townland on the same side as Legnacash-

You said here her father James McKinney was a weaver-

This is a very important detail you've neglected to mention today. As a weaver it's quite possible he might not be listed in Griffith's.

I see you've posted similar queries on quote a few other forums with confusing assumptions there too  :-\

Well I only googled   "mckinney Legnacash"  and saw an avalanche of threads on a pile of sites.

You'd need days to read them and try to make sense from them all and decide what is fact and what is fiction.

One can't just pull a name from a townland and presume it is correct.

In my townland, 12 houses,  there are 2 people with exact names.... are they related in any way??  No!

Sorry for the confusion..
Not quite sure which sites you mean. I lost my original information when my email was hacked. When they reinstated the hotmail it was blank and all my original  ancestry material was lost. I have conflicting information because thats what im following at the time.

Im really sorry for the confusion.
Legnacash is what was on her marriage cert to Alexander Bell. I have put him from tattykeel Kildress because that is
Where it said on his marriage cert. His son Alexander said he was born there in his 100 birthday celebration. He lived until he was 6 weeks off his 102nd birthday.

Im sure everyone is wise with hindsight, hence me keep putting this search  to one side.

I didnt think that a persons marriage cert would say a different area to where they were from. Of course, they could
have only moved there the week before..
Once again apologies.
