Thanks for the suggestion Jamjar - that's what I did with John COOK but it came up with nothing except a list of BMDS, even though I then filtered it to travel (or immigration or whatever the filter is.)

You have to click on ‘Collections’ then scroll down to Migration and Naturalisation.

FamilySearch have the arrival date wrong.  The departure date for the Marco Polo is correct as 9 Nov 1853 and it arrived in Jan 1854.

FamilySearch have the arrival date wrong.  The departure date for the Marco Polo is correct as 9 Nov 1853 and it arrived in Jan 1854.

There is the date 30-1-54 on the last page of the record, on FamilySearch.

Thank you for letting us see this gravestone, Annette; it's a lovely memorial with a good deal of information.

Wonderful that FamilySearch has the images of the shipping records but the date transcriptions on more than one record are a bit hit and miss, especially putting the arrival before the departure.
