Ps.  The only trouble is there were several Mary Jane Mead’s born around the same time in Wiltshire & Broad Chalke is quite a way from Salisbury. I am told the father of this MJ Mead was a gardener.

Sorry Rosie all I know is he was a gardener, I wasn’t given his name & can’t acces that info now. She married at a Wesleyan chapel in Aldershot apparently.

Keyboard86 that does look promising so the Mary Jane at Portsea could be her.  Next question if it’s not too cheeky is what happened after 1881?

As you know for definite that she married Arthur Flatman then you really need that marriage certificate so we know what information is given for her father and who the witnesses were.

What was his name

I have managed to find out that her fathers name was Thomas so it looks very much like the entry on the 1881CR Portsea could well be her so Thank you Keyboard86 for giving me the details of William Thomas Mead's & Thirza's marriage.

If anyone can help me with what happened to her after 1881 I would be very grateful. I cant see a death. The marriage in 1894 is unlikely to be her as she states on CRs that she was born in Somerset rather than Salisbury, Wiltshire & she had stated Wiltshire in both 1871 & 1881.
